I looked but didn't find this subject; I apologize if i overlooked it.

I have a 1 year old John Deere Z-Trak 737 that has started making a horrible belt whine when the blades are engaged. The dealer checked the clutch and belt adjustment and says that this whine is typical. Well, I find it hard to believe that.

Anyone else having this problem? What can I do to fix it?

    Thanks!

Replace the mule belt and your problem will be solved. What happens is the belt is slipping cause its stretched, mine do that when they need replaced. You can adjust the idler pulley but I'd just replace the belt cause usually by the time it starts whinning, belt is too far stretched.
