I traded a JD Z830 last spring. I noticed the dealer still has it for sale and posted it on craigslist. If anyone is in the central pa area and looking for this type of mower, you could probably cut a deal, the mower was taken care of.

They gave me $5,500 on the trade, had it listed for over $6k last year, now $5,700

Sounds like a pretty great deal, wish I was in the market may have taken the drive down for that one! Mower looks real clean too! Why did you trade it in?

The JD didnt have a suspension seat. I traded for a cheetah because I used the mower at my personal residence. Multiple acres to mow, and the ride on the cheetah for extended periods of time is much better

Good to know! I'm hoping to justify buying a used JD this season. Hoping to find a 700 series with 500 hrs or less, but the mower you posted would sell for at least $8500 up here

You have to be kidding me. I bought that mower new three years ago for $7,500. Sticker on the mower was around 12 but JD was giving the 830s away. Wen I went to JD to trade it the dealer told me they dont give more than $3500 for any 830 no matter what the hours

Wow sounds like they don't really care for the 830?? Saw a 08 830 here the other day with 1400 hrs on it and beat up pretty good for the same price haha

The 830s had some hydro pump issues when they released the mower. The tolerances were off and they didnt operate smooth. They were doing some retro fits to fix the problem, the mower I had got upgraded hydros. I think that is why some jd dealers dont want to give a fair trade price, thats why I went elsewhere.

Was looking at craigslist again. Spring is around the corner and the dealer bumped the asking price by $1,000. Good deal became an overpriced deal imo
