Looking at a used John Deere 737, has 650 hrs on it, been in use by local LCO, serviced regularly and I know its been maintained well. Bought new and is currently in its 2nd season, I can probably pick it up for 4K. Wondered if this was a good price for this unit, had't really looked into what a new one sells for? Has a 23HP OHV Kawasaki on it with the 7 iron deck.

If it is in good shape it is an okay price. Here I can get a new one with the new 7 Iron II deck for $6800-$7000

    I don't know what a 737 is new,but a 797 is around 10,400
    a 757 is 8000 to 8500 so I would think a 737 new is around
6000 to 6500 The mower should be ok with 650 hrs if it was
maintained well, Main things to look at will be pto clutch (engage
in and out smoothly) Put a slight pressure on deck lift pedal
hold foot on it with blades spinning You will feel any vibration
going on in deck spindles, pulleys,or bearings through your foot.
And no noise while moving from hydro pump. I would start
with 3500 dollar offer first, Dealers are all anixious to move used
    equip. Hope this helps you

If 757's are 8000-8500 and 797's 10,400 at your dealer you need to look for another. I can (and did and have) bought both those mowers this year for a grand less than those prices.

MM lawn That is the lowest priced Deere dealer here The 797
outside of Little Rock at other dealers are 11,000 to 11,500
I have priced them from MO to LA. Deere has a HUGE market
in AR Other sided though dealers give 6500 to 7000 trade in
thats with 2 years use and 1000 to 1500 hrs on the machine
East of Little Rock to MS- TN line every little town has a Deere
dealer! About 40 to 50 per cent of the lawn services here run
Deere so they baiscally own the market and command the prices
