The first thing I did when i got the new 757 home was park them both side by side to see what was different. I'd assume that since my 2002 was the first model year for the 700 series jd ztr that JD would have made some changes. But the only thing different was the front tires. My 2002 has well over 500 hrs and still going strong. You actually saw a 757 with only 1 pump?

That is a concern for me on the 2004...the single housing pump. The 2003's and older had the separate pumps as shown in the picture, according to what my dealer has shown me.

Have you guys had any service issues with the dial deck height setting arrangement? This looks too weak to me.

The only other issue I had is now solved: Kawi/JD now offers the HD air cleaner setup!

I really love the 7 Iron deck. It has out-performed the Hustler, Husky, and Lazer HP, gonna put it up against the Lazer Z next week and make a decision!

I wonder why they would go to a single pump? Just because of cost?

Dial-height knob has worked fine on our 757. Really great feature IMO.

Tider6972 -- who is offering the HD air cleaner? The grass is really starting to dry up here now and we could use a better air cleaner with all of the dust. Any other info on it? This fits the 25hp horizontal shaft?

Not all the 2004's have a single pump. My 2004 has 2 pumps.:)

I've got an '04 in my garage I'm using until my 777 comes in and it has a single pump on it. Here's a pic:

Let's try this again. Here's a pic of the single pump setup on the 757 in my garage:

The HD air cleaner is available through both JD (though some dealers will not know, never fails) and Kawi. I don't know the brand, could be Nelson, Donaldson, or some other mfg., but may be available direct from mfg as well.

Steve1, that's the 'single housing, dual pump' I'm seeing too ! And no doubt they went to in order to cut costs.

Do you know the cost of the heavy duty air cleaner? i talked with the Kawasaki rep at the GIE and he said that in order to put the canister type air filter on, you need to rejet the carb. has anyone asked the JD dealer about this?

How does the single pump unit operate better?
