I have a JD JX85, its about 5 years old. Its only been used maybe 10 hrs. It has been in storage for 2 years. I recently got it out and done the maintenance, and tried to start it. It wont start, if I put a little gas in the carb it will run til its gone then go dead. I need a solution without going to the dealership because they will rape you. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Try cleaning out the fuel lines with carburetor cleaner and cleaning the carburetor and fuel tank.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try that. I was hoping I wouldn't have to break down the carb but if that dont work that will be my next move. Again thanks. johnny

make sure you dint have 2 year old fuel in it. Fuel will lose its octane after so long

You could try this. I did this with my JX75.
replace with new gas, and remove the air filter.
Shoot in carb with a little bit of carb cleaner.
    Pull it and start it.
Then, shoot little shots of carb cleaner in the carb when the mower tries to quit running.
THis will keep it running, while cleaning the carb.
