I bought a Walker MDD 7 years ago. It is starting to nickel and dime me. There always seems to be something going wrong, don't get me wrong, it has been a good mower but I think I have gotten my money's worth out of it and it is close to the end of its life. I bought a John Deere z425 with a 48" deck this spring to help out and pick up when my Walker breaks down. It seems to do a pretty good job (even for a residential mower) but it was about 1/3 the price of the Walker. Well, I bought another Z425 today with a 54" deck. How long do you think these mowers will last before they start to nickel and dime me like the Walker is doing? I know that you get what you pay for but anyone use mowers like these or stick with commercial grade mowers for twice the money?

When mowing commercially residential equipment will nickel and dime you to death. Not only that, they're not nearly as productive to start with. You're better off buying a 2-3 yr old commercial machine.
