Does anyone know anything about the new "B" series that John Deere offers. I know that it is a lower quality commercial mower, probably comparable to their old Z700 series. I am looking at buying one but I would like to know more about them. I know that nobody has experience with them because this is the first year they are offered but has anyone heard anything about them?

I have a budget of around $7,000 and I was going to buy a used Z920 or something similiar but when I figured out that the Z915B was in that price range, I thought I would just buy one of them simply because of the warrany and dealer support. I am just a little bit skeptical because they are so light duty, even though they are commercial mowers.

    Any suggestions?

I would stick with a used z925a or such. The hydros are ported and also heavier. If you find a low houred used one the warranty is up to 3 years or 1500 hours

It's not light duty, it has the same frame, deck, wheels, etc as the M and R series. It just doesn't come with all the fancy stuff like break and go and comfort and convenience. Aside from no cross porting hydros (not really THAT important) and maybe the engine ( I think commercial Kohler and not kawasaki), they are the same machine.

you should be able to buy a leftover 2012 z920a for that price which is a better mower than the z915b.

They have the 12's discounted heavily. A 930 is 8500 without comfort and convenience package.
Once you have the foot brake you wont go back. And as far as cross porting, it will really increase the life of your hydros, especially if you have any hills.
The old saying holds true, you get what you pay for.

    Yes, I'm glad I got a 925a when I did.

Nope. Kind of glad, heard it wasn't as powerful as the Kawasaki.

I just want to brag- I bought a new Z950 early last year.

No, seriously, I'm glad I bought when I did. I didn't know (no one did) that they were changing things up this year at the time I bought, but it (for once in my life) turned out I bought at a good time. I like the looks and about everything else better on mine than on the new ones with the exception of the suspension seat.
