Picked up 3 new accounts in the shannon valley area today.
WOW good for you!
Ok, so I get a call from a friend of mine that knows a guy who just moved into the area and he does lawn care. This guy has picked up 188 accounts so far this year and is looking to get rid of 88 of them. All of them are in my area. So, I go and talk to this guy and he gives me names and numbers of all his new customers so I can call them.
I start to call these people and tell them my minimum weekly service price is $30 per week and goes up from there. They all freak out. Get this.......he is cutting 8k-15k sq ft yards for.......$12 per week.
So now, there are a hundred people in my area who are under the impression they should be paying $12 per week for service. Un-fu**ing believable.
Sorry had to vent. It's just unreal.
$12 a week?? Does this guy have insurance and everything? Does he enjoy killing himself for minimum wage?
Does anyone know where I can get doorhanger blanks for printer locally or do I have to order them on the net?
Have no idea.
He has a helper and said he averages $36/hour. Not sure what he pays the help.
Hard to compete with $12/week though.
There's no way he does 3 lawns in an hour - unless theyre nieghbors
Lots of them are. Some areas there are 15 houses within 3 streets.
This $12 an hour guy will get it in the end...my neighbor boy doesn't mow for less than $20...and he's 10!!! Wait till this guy breaks a window with a rock and then we'll see what his customers think then...
Theres a sod farm called Briggs Brothers i think out south, something like 160th and Nall or Roe...or somewhere out there. Might try looking for them.
