i just rebuilt my carburetor for a 21hp kawasaki walk behind. on top of the carb are two plugs, one is for the fuel line but the other i have no clue. does this plug need a cap over it or do i just leave it open? i cant find any other hose that would go to this so im clueless

That is the float bowl vent, Do not plug it up just leave it alone.

Restro's on the money! I'm not sure on the 21, but most all 17 and 19"s I've worked on had a plastic vent/overflow hose that would direct any overflow down and away from the engine. Don't know for sure but that may have depended upon the application.
