I have a DR Trimmer/Mower with a Kawasaki FC150V engine (5hp I think). It starts up fine but when I bring the power up by engaging the trimmer, it only runs for about 15 seconds at that speed then dies. It will also sputter and die if it is left idling for a minute or so.

I've had the carb off and cleaned it, and the gravity fuel flow seems ok.

    Any ideas are appreciated,

    Thanks, Bob

How did you clean it? With an aerosol spray? Not caustic enough.
If it's been sitting a while, you need to remove the carb, soak it for an hour in a commercial-strength dip tank and rebuild it.

I used a commercial degreaser but I didn't submerge it for very long. I'll pull it off and soak it for awhile and see what happens.

    Thanks much,
