Kawasaki FC420V part functions?

    Explain what this part is and its function

    All I know is that it is an igniter switch. What does it do?



    Also this part:

    It goes over to the carb but is not connected to the butterfly valve. it is about 2 inches behind that. The wire below that that has the "U" in it is connected to the valve.

    The Exciter takes the place of points and condenser and tells the coil when to fire the plug.

    The linkage you have the arrow on should be hooked to ref. # 11 Throttle shaft on the carb. and the one with the "U" should be hooked to ref. # 1 Choke shaft.
