Pull the spark plug out and see if the cylinder is filling with gas.

your float needle is not seating or your float may have a hole in it. pull the carb and take off the float and shake it to see if there is gas in it if none put a new needle and seat in it.

I have the same problem with my Ransomes, walk behind if I leave the fuel shut off valve on. If I pull the carb off to check float and needle valve will I need new gaskets etc? This Kaw engine does go through a lot of gas. Will fixing the problem also give me better mileage?

    Thnxs for your thoughts.
