i just bought another older JD 52" walk behind mower, has the FC540V electric start, oon the back of the engine, there is a place for 4 nuts and a plate, it looks as if a seal was blown thru the right side between right and top nuts. Any tips as to what to do to fix and how to fix would be appreciated and how much it'd cost, or if its something i can do myself? thanks

That plate is the end of the counter balance retention shaft, The O-ring part # 92055-2072 is blown. You can pick up a new O-ring then remove the nuts, carefully slide the plate/shaft out then replace the O-ring.

Do NOT rotate or move the engine/machine with this shaft out, Hopefully it will slide back in without issue......

Make sure to mark the plate before removing it....
It needs to go back in the same hole locations...as it came off...
If you turn it...you may pick up a few new noises...
