I have heard that this is very common with electric starters on Kawasaki engines and the dealer said to spray lube on the top of the starter gear from top, it did nothing. Then had the cover off of the engine and sprayed it with fluid film up under the gear while holding it up and then it would just spin and not engage the gear and then finally it started to engage again but the darn noise is still there when you let off of the starter. Anyone have this problem?

You need to remove the starter and take it apart, Clean it up and re-lube both bushings top and bottom. What happened is you got fluid film in the starter drive clutch they have to run dry to work properly I guess you found out. Myself have never had any problems with Kawasaki starters but doing the above should take care of it if there isn't a bad/ loose bushing.
