First of all, I can't apply herbicides because I'm not licensed yet. I have a customer with an unfinished back yard that is supposed to be dirt, but it's covered with thistle and a few other weeds (about 2500 sq ft). If I mow and bag the weeds, then spray the stumps with vinegar (20%), will that work to get rid of them? Also, will it pose any future problems with seeding or sodding?

glad u brght this back up. i tried the 5% venegar and it was totally not effective.where do u find these stronger vinegars.
    couldnt find any around here.
buffalo ,id sub this ,if u know a lco .
another option is to get the herbicide and advise the home owner that they will have to put it on themselves.make sure they practise safe methods of handeling the herbicide.
i assume u will get this acct after u get it straitened out
to make this worth your time.good luck
