Kohler 26.5 EFI

    I was told to run 10W30 after the break in oil so that is what I am running. Straight 30wt better?

    I have 120 hours on mine and I ran 10W 30 since new and mine used 1/2 a quart in 15 hours. My dealer said to run 10-30

    Not sure but don't think the manufacturer considers that excessive.

    Well my service guy said it was not bad if it was not using a quart between oil changes. He told be to go 75 hours. I changed it and have kept track of usage

    That sounds like way too much maybe you can have your dealer check with Kohler. With those hydraulic lifters I don't know about the straight 30w ?

    Says right in the kohler manual you can use 30wt if the temps are above a certain temperature. Mine is quiet and uses virtually no oil with straight 30wt. I do use 10W-30 in the early spring with the cold mornings.

    Hi, what is the date of your engine build? I have a new one built in February 2014.
