Going to order new super Z with 60" XR-7 deck, I had planed on the 28hpEFI, but I now see a 30hp Kohler. The spec's on both engine are the same. What would you guys choose and why.

Well I would think that the efi would, should be much better on fuel economy. The tourge for the efi is probably the same, or even a little more. I have a 26 efi kohler and it uses about 30% less fuel than the 25 hp carb that I had.

I had a Kohler 28 EFI in my last toro, simply one great engine!

just make sure they earth it properly, EFI need excellent earths, and this is sometimes overlooked, but easily fixed....

Get the EFI. It will save you a lot of money on fuel and have a lot of power. I bet that 30 hp would be a gas hog but I may be wrong but I bet its got a lot power. Anyway i'd get the EFI.

    NEITHER.... 26HP Liquid Cooled Kawasaki...
    Nah... just messing with ya...

For me, it would be hard to say... a toss-up maybe... flip a coin...
Considering the dealer shops here, probably the 30hp.

Personally though, I'm wondering what the two prices are?
I'd look at rather the EFI had any hope of paying for itself.
If it does and your shops can take care of them, then SURE!

Well, I've read and heard "30%" thrown around quite a bit in conjuction with EFI.

I've never taken it as literally even near 30% fuel savings though.

grounding, earthing.....ya know, the black wires that attach to *CLEAN* parts of the mower's body....

a few brands have not done this good enough resulting in problems.....I know of 2 or 3 of the top brands who this has happened to, poor eath mucks up the fantastic EFI system.

Sorry I can't translate that into yanky dialect, that's the best this bush bloke can do lol.

btw, I doubt this is even an issue these days, companies learn fast.....'cept deere lol.
