Just changed the oil on the 23 hp Kohler. Started it up to let the oil circulate before I checked the level again. With the oil cap off I could feel blowby or air coming out of the valve cover. Is this normal for a Kohler? It runs great and I know some engines have pressure in the valve cover just checking to make sure this is normal for the Kohler Comand.

If the thing was billowing smoke out, you might have a problem, But what you're describing is probably normal windage..

That windage is just the crankcase venting itself. If it didn't vent then pressure would build up in the crankase and eventually it will blow out a gasket or start leaking through one of the seals. As a side note as well, a little condensation is common as well. As long as no oil is seeping out then keep on keeping on!
