I am a residential owner of a 23HP LQ Lazer Z w/ 60". I beleive I bought it in 2001. One awesome mower. When I picked up my mower from the dealer, they had to adjust the carb, as it would not run smooth.

Everytime I use it, I have to have the choke out 1/2 to 3/4 for a couple minutes...more when it's colder out. Is this normal? It always seems to have run a little rich (smells like gas) even after I have mowed with the choke off.

    BoilerMaker,

Yes and no. It's normal you'll need the choke longer and more often in colder weather but I don't know that you should constantly smell fuel. I'd recommend getting it looked at again. I'd also pop in a new set of plugs. You'll be surprised what a difference it can make, especially in colder temperatures.

    Thanks

    Terry
