    I have a Kohler Command CV14s ( on a John Deere Tractor ) am stumped as to what is going on.

    I can start it and it stays on idle and is fine, when i move the throttle even a small amount the thing throttles up like it is out of control , way to high . When you watch the throttle control on the carb it only has to go a small touch after the low idle to rev so high. The govenor is working properly and the spings and stuff. You can control the idle , but it seems as though it is letting WAY to much gas in and reving way to high. Any suggestions on what to do ??

    Sounds like you do indeed have a governor issue, It needs the adjustment checked and if that doesn't solve the problem the governor has slung apart inside the engine.

    Adjustment procedure;

    I would definitely look closely at the carb, and make sure that the carb,
    throttle plate screws are not coming loose, as they will get sucked into the
    engine. That may be the problem, and if you catch it early, a little loctite
    will be the only investment in the repair.
