Is this an odd model (PC80) , I can not seem to find much info on it? :help:

I have been reviewing the shop, and owners manuals , and I am looking for owners/operators feedback, pros, and cons.

Haven't heard of this model, either... where did you find its information?

The machine sits (literally) across the road from me, and the operation, and shop manuals are marked PC80-3 Hydraulic Excavator, as well as the decals on the rig. The owner passed away a little over a year ago right after putting 9k worth of work into it,complete new under-carriage,(I (she) have all the reciepts, including original purchase),not used since. Meter shows 5k hours. The machine looks fantastic. His wife would like to sell, and offered it to me for 8500. It is a little larger than what I am looking for. Have done a search on-line, BUT only found minor references to this model.
Let me state that I have never operated a excavator , only a backhoe  The machine started right-up. It is stored indoors.

That is correct a Dash-3 would be late 80's. I looked into these machines when looking for a new excavator. They spec. well. If your looking for machine in that weight class it sounds like a great deal.

Sounds like a good deal to me if the machine runs and performs well.
