I'm using 15w-40 shell rotella heavy duty diesel oil in my lawnmower with a kubota 3 cylinder D722-E.

The cap on the oil fill/check has 30w stamped on it.

Thing is, I can't find 30w diesel oil.

    Is 15w-40 okay to use?

    Thanks,

    Brant

You need to use the 30 weight oil in that engine. One source, is from Kubota. They have a Kubota brand 30w oil for diesel engines.

at our shop, we us the rotella 15w40, thats all we put in the kubota deisels we service in mowers and dingos, etc.

it will have no ill affects, its a little bit better for the hot summer time anyways with the 40wt vs 30wt.
