Is their any one using the mulching kit on the ZD331 & what kind of cut are you geting are you using the blades that came with the mulching kit.
To me the blades don,T have enough lift.

I don't have the ZD331... but I too have observed this with various mulching blades.

In my opinion, a lot of the mulching blades are a tad under-done on lift and a tad over-done on the down-discharge bevel.

eXmark's mulching blades are an example of this in my opinion.

What length and center hole size are your blades?
Maybe I can make some suggestions of others to try....

That's still somewhat of a 'proprietary' blade size.

What I mean is most 60" commercial mowers use a 20.5" blade with a 5/8" center hole.

I'm in the same boat with Lesco.
They use a 21" blade with 3/4" center hole.
If it were not for the center hole size I'd have a slew of blade styles to choose from.

But none of this is to say that aftermarket blade MFG's don't make blades for them.
They probably do, it's just that the selection is not as large.

Try Oregon, Stens, Silver Streak, and some of the lawnsite "mower parts" sponsors.

At best it's probably going to be a trial and error thing.
Bounce around and try brand to brand until you find something you like.
