I have a customer who wants me to install a irrigation system coming from a lake. I have priced everything but the filter. I am hoping that someone knows of a good filtration system for drawing water from a lake.
    Thanks,

A cheap and easy filter that has worked well for me is to just take perforated "BIG-O" pipe with the sock filter cloth on it. Tie one end closed and put the intake pipe into the other end and tie the sock tight. I use about 30 feet of pipe. I usually tie it to a dock or something about a foot below the low water level. This has served me well with all my customers over the years and I usually replace it every couple of years. This is cheaper than any filters that I have priced and works just as well.
