What are some opinions on landscape fabric under organic mulches?
waste of money, and pita
probably cause you more weeds , due to the unfavorable soil conditions that will occur on top of the fabric
snapshot ot treflan are my preference
No fabric under mulch. The only time I use it is as a barrier between rock beds and the soil.
I tell my customers that I don't offer fabric as a weed control method, just a barrier in rock beds.
Bad idea IMO.
Use it all the time, even in my yard. Area where used is weed free, years later - lots of weeds where not used.
Fabric under the mulch eliminates the purpose of the mulch.
