Am bidding 58 yards of red hardwood mulch plus 25 dwarf Loropetulams. Mulch has to be wheelbarrowed over entire property, relatively flat, farthest trip approx. 250 ft. My mulch will cost 40$ yd, plants are wholesale @ 7.50 for a 3 gallon. I anticipate 21 hours fo do job with 3 workers total. Total bid I came up with is $6,200.00. What do you folks think?

That bid will get destroyed by someone else if you are paying $40 a yard. I would do the mulch for $70 a yard including labor, so that would only be $4060 plus the plants.

Any company could do $70 a yard if not $65 on a job that large, at least where I am at. The very most I get on small jobs under 5 yards is $75 a yard.

Why are you paying so much for mulch?
