I'm pretty confident about my prices but this one job I'm bidding is larger than I'm use to.

    18,000sq. ft.
    4" topsoil @ 225yds.
    Hydroseed
4 man crew will be on site
2 days work pending on delivery of soil.

Would like to what you would bid with cost of equip., labor, and your mark up. The homeowner is taking care of flowerbeds so all we have to do is bring in soil, rake final grade and, spray with Hydroseed. Also, are my caculations correct for the topsoil?

You're going to use 225 yards of topsoil on just over 4/10ths of an acre? And at only 4" deep?

That's why I asked if my caculations on the topsoil were correct. Too much? Too little?

    well let see

225 yards about $4050 for topsoil cost plus markup = $4,500
you can probably get this knocked down and getting someone to bring this in for less. Should be 13 trucks if trucking in its about $55 hour to truck

    4 man crew at @25/ hour $1,600

are you spreading this by hard, or are you using a skid steer or loader of sorts?

    Depending on that added cost

hydro not sure of charge as I do not do it currently.

    so far $6,100 plus additionals..

    ok

so then add $ 400 for skid steer and $400 for paying an opperator for 2 days at $25/ hour

Is there any site prep work to be done by you or is the home owner doing it all

    My bid for this job:

    1. (225) yards of topsoil installed ($50.00/yard at discount due to quantity)
    = $11,250.

    2. Hydro-seed = .10 per sq/ft.
    = $1800.00

    Total: $13,000 ~

Duration: (1-1.5) days at (4-6) laborers and (2) Bobcats with operators.

-I would run (2) tandem dumps delivering dirt and running the (2) Bobcats at the same time with the (4-6) laborers raking/grading the soil as we move it.
