So I was Asked to do a bid for mulch around some trees (about 88) I did the figure for that and go about 16 yards for mulch, but I also have to do lava rock around 1 building because the chips wash away when it rains alot, so I am estimating about 20 yards of mulch because their are some flower beds that will need mulching, ( still Ned to use goolge earth's ruler and meausre the beds now more than likely I will be using a skidsteer, but I was just wondering what a good price to charge for lava rock install would be, and can you still do normal price for mulch install, or should I charge a little less because of the amount?

At 20 yards, I would charge around 90-95 per yard installed.

In the low $50 per yard range is probably what it needs to be, but if they are getting multiple bids i bet people will be in the low $40 range for hardwood. For lava rock it probably should be in the $160-180 range since your probably going to pay $90 a yard

I think you are right. There are companies around here that get their hardwood for around $9/yd. That's pretty cheap.

For sure, right now i get it in the $12-14 per yd range. Most supply yards are selling it for $22 per yd wholesale
