There are 4-12" koi, 5-6" koi and 2-4" shubunkins all in the cave at the time of the pic. This feature was installed in July 08. And yes the pond is going thru its first algae bloom. Algae will be gone in a week after treatments.

do you do all your own koy pond designs? we have a local company that designs them for us, but it is so hard to get the homeowners to keep up on the maintenance. we always try to persuade them to not use fish because we always end up hearing about something dying.

I design my own. That's the fun part and of course it always changes somewhat while we are digging. Man I hate having to try and build something someone else has designed. Most of the time the don't have a clue on water features. Note I said most of the time, I know there are a few of you out there that can. I love to draw and paint wall murals so designing a feature and watching the customers reactions when I turn it on is like my canvas I quess. As far as the maint. offer the customer a monthly/yearly contract. We have several contracted customers and every Jan. they resign so this way I keep money flowing in the dead season.
