If owner is willing to foot the bill, fill in low areas to even it out with rest of lawn.
Is cutting at higher length an option?

try looking under the deck where the blades are. If there are spacers there remove a couple. But of course you can't go through the hassle of constantly removing and adding spacers back on the deck.

I would try raising the deck or see if you are linking gas or something like that out of your mower. Tell the owner to try and water them spots or reseed it.
