I have never edged and I want to add this service. I actually plan on doing it for free on a few homes to practice. But can someone recommend a edger for me. I dont need anything too pricey as I do not believe i will use it that often. So i would like to start with something that is decent. Not the top of the line tanaka. I love tanaka, but the price of 600 bucks is not what i am looking for. Also how much a foot do you charge? Thanks

I have and use both, A stihl stick edger $350.00 and a craftsman wheeled edger that sell for around 200-250 dollars. Keep your eyes open at garage sales now that spring is close, I hear stories of people finding wheeled edgers cheap when people do spring cleanings.

16 years in buisness and you never edged? What exactly kind of edger are you looking for? Something to trim the grass next to a concrete surface or a landscape bed?

yep 16 years, part time and never edged. I am looking to edge along curbs and drive ways. It seems no one really does it around here. This maybe a little something extra that separates me. No big deal, but nice. We do not have sidewalks. Just driveways, walkways and curbs at the street. What will work for me, wheel or stick. I am looking on ebay, since i am looking for cheap until i see how this goes over with customers. Thanks

i'd say stick.... I have a shindaiwa and i really like it. Have a mclane wheel one too. its buried in the shop, a little too cumbersome for what I do. Dont count out the Redmax's or the Stihl's either. Alot of people on here love em.
