I used to run a lawn maintenance company about 5 years ago, when I was 19, but I decided to learn a trade instead. I'm ready to get back into the lawn maintenance business now.

I used to just have the customers sign a contract saying that I show up once a week to mow and trim the lawn and blow all of the clippings off of walk ways, etc. If it didn't need to be cut that week, when it was dry, I wouldn't do it, and I wouldn't get paid obviously.

What type of contracts do you do? Are they similar to a snow plowing contract where, even if it doesn't snow you still get paid, for the season, and if it snows more than a certain amount, there is usually a charge of a percentage of the contract per visit.

Or are they paid per visit?
