Can someone please explain to me the advantages and disadvantages of using mower weights. Will using them effect my quality of cut, good or bad?

Should not hurt how it cuts, keeps the front down on steep turf.

To my knowledge, weights are primarily used for small deck walk-behinds to keep the front end down. I had to add weights to my 36" walk-behind because on even the slightest incline, the deck would pop up. Also, for collection system's on ZTR's, counter weights are used to balance the machine from the added weight of the hopper and debris at the rear of the machine.

I was actually thinking about putting calcium in my tires on my dixie chopper because they spin even when i try to turn slow and on hills..
