Anyone get the card advertising the "Lawn Piranha" heads from "Pop-n-Crop" this week?
    http://www.popncrop.com/index.php

    Issues I see:
    1. Extra weight=extra pressure to pop up. Most of the systems I'd even think about using these on are old and don't have any extra pressure to spare.
    2. Cost. At around 13.30 each one can buy a lot of 4" popups.
    3. Along those lines, it wouldn't do any good to just replace one or 2 heads with these. One would have to replace the whole zone/system with them to be effective. I don't have many customers that would spring for that.
    4. Safety. Don't know how sharp the blade is but the last thing I'd want to do is grab it the wrong way while adjusting w/o gloves. Ouch.

    Thoughts?

    Mike

I don't know... seems like it might be some competition for the sprinkler buddy guy.

I remember the description of the ancient Safe-T-Lawn ball-drive rotors operation stressing how well the water flushed away anything from the wiper seal area, both rising and retracting. It was really more in the way of excessive flow-by, that they got away with on account of the wide (for then) diameter of the turret.

No competition there, just another sprinkler head that may need a buddy.
