I have a couple of opportunities to do lawn restorations of seeding etc. What has been others successful experience using seed, dried compost pellets and a mild starter fertilizer. I have found in the past I have to revisit the site and touch up areas that havn't done as well as others.

Any suggestions and advice would be really helpful.

    Cheers

It is a blend of fescue and rye grasses.

Rye is a very easy grass to seed. More than likely a soil temp, water or bird issue. You may check the bad areas for compaction but it is easy to grow.
