I was in no way trying to slight Toro equipment with this post. It just seems like when the individual sells to the corporation, things usually tend to go to hell. I hope this will not be the case...

just spoke with edn distributors, guess they are one of the biggest distributors for lawn solutions on the east coast. They said they shipped back to toro/lawn solutions all their units they had in inventory. Guess they will paint them red and toro stickers?? Called ls and they say they are shutting down production for the next month and have no answers. Seems like a bad time of the year for all this as I would assume this would be the time companies would start thinking about upgrading their equipment for fall renovations. Lt rich must be happy about this, although I think the ride on unit of ls is a much better machine.

I ordered a Rideon from LS on 6/1 and just emailed today to check on the order status. I was told they sold to Toro and to call a local dealer. I spoke with my local dealer and he is going to check on when they will be available. I was really looking forward to aeration season this year but this could screw everything up. I might be chasing behind my old Ryans for another year.

Just spoke with my dealer and he made some calls and really didn't have any info that I have not already read in the forums on here. He said he will call me back as soon as he knows more.

This is what LS sent me.

David, As you may well know, Lawn Solutions has been bought out by The Toro company. Production has been shut down for the time being and we will be manufacturing for TORO for an extended period once we figure out their sells channels and the price that they want to put on our products. We cannot sell directly to you, but when a Toro/Exmark dealer in your area can house our products, they can sell to you. I am not aware of a current dealer in your area that handled our machines for Lawn Solutions, but get with your local Toro/Exmark dealer and see if they will carry our product in the future. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and hopefully we can do business with you in the future! Kind Regards, Tyler GrahamBusiness Development Specialist Lawn Solutions Commercial Products5406 Shepherdsville Rd.Louisville, KY 40228(502) 968-3188

What happens if a current Lawn Solutions product owner needs a replacement part.....? Do I march down to my local Toro/Exmark dealer and say hey, You case you didn't know Toro bought the Lawn Soltions Co. and I need this part that broke on my Aerator, seeder whatever....?

Maybe I will call my Toro dealer and see if they have any clue what is going on....?

I was kind of thinking the same thing. I'd like to get a set of cutting blades before the transition. Also by the way,..David used to work for Toro in engineering (research and development) before going out on his own. Very smart man, and I'm sure he will make sure all things are in place so his previous customers are taken of.

Typical, David should have filled his current orders. Just plain bad business no way to treat people willing to spend their hard earned money. Asked him for a demo once guy was a rude smart ass, good riddens I say.

I ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but......

    a) What is a sales channel? Sounds like B.S. to me. (I figured it was were folks buy stuff)

    b) What price to charge? LS has been "selling" their stuff long enough, so I can kinda figure out Toro's "price issue". Or you can find NIB LS aerators on ebay right now for $3114.99 Item # 150629964999 Only 27 days left on the auction. Several available. (maybe this will help Toro with their pricing)

    c) "When a Toro dealer can house the units"? Every Toro dealer I know has PLENTY of warehouse space.

Anyways, I just got off the phone with central Iowa's largest Toro dealer. ....They had no clue what a lawn solutions aerator was in the first place. I tried to describe the features, but they were still dumbfounded.

So then I called the largest "regional" Toro company. (formerly Tri-State, now MTI Distributing) They had no clue either.
