I have both a 6 and 9hp turf revitalizer. They both share one very annoying trait. They both have this real bad vibration that come from the front of the machine. It's noticible when sitting but when you turn on the cutters it will wake the dead. It seems like the sound comes from the removable belt cover to the seed agitator or both. Any other owners have the same problem and how did you fix it, or did you.

Most likely you have a bad bearing. either the idler pulley or the shaft bearing. each are simple to replace

No bad bearings. They both do it since day one. The 9hp unit is new not even 2hrs on it, does the same thing. Units work perfect just rattle.

Ours (9hp) was on the belt guard. We tracked it down and initially wedged cardboard in there short term. That worked for a while then we ground the offending edge away. That worked but chased the noise (less though) to another point. We wanted to screw the guard down with a sheet metal screw but there was no lip we could attach it to. Fortunately our testing ended before cracks on the guard developed.

It was something we made sure to take into account when we developed ours.

Thanks Mr. Force, our belt cover rubbed on the bottom pulley. We bent it a little and that solved that issue. The loud rattle seems to come from the auger. It's two pieces that just rest on each other. The vibration from the machine running causes it to rattle. Starting the cutters causes it to scream. When you fill the hopper with seed the problem is solved. When the seed hopper gets low the rattling starts again. I am thinking about job welding it together. But if something would break I would have a hard time taking the unit apart. They should have just put a few bolts through the two pieces and they would not have any issues.
