    Just kidding :)

I think your going to want a high nitrogen fertilizer. But ask a professional fert guy.

Liquid iron is the only thing that will act that fast...put it on with hoes end sprayer. I won't go along with high nitrogen fert just before the party it could burn it even with slow release. When it is 90F slow realease can burn so don't do that 4 days before party.

Chelated iron with a little bit of ammonium sulfate to help it along.

    hose end adjusted wide open:

mix 50% cheap soap and 50% ammonia.

Then add liquid iron as per directions on bottle.

Spray it on after you mow. I swear I can see it green as I'm spraying.

btw, why aren't you adding slow release fertilize now? Pre rain is best time.

fwiw, if you use 33% for the above and add 33% beer to the mix it helps break down thatch...

How does drinking only 33% of a beer help break down thatch?
