I live in NorthEast PA. We have had alot of rain this year. I need assistance with an ongoing problem. I think I need to dethatch, slit seed, and core aerate. What is the proper order and when should I do this?

It's getting close to the end of the season to seed. All depends on the weather and temperatures in October. Dethatch, aerate, then slit seed.

Thanks for your reply. When I seed, what type of grass seed is best for Northeast PA?

check to see first whether or not you need to dethatch. Some thatch is actually good for the lawn. It you have 1/2 inch or greater or thatch, then you should dethatch the lawn. The best possible time to dethatch the lawn is usually around the end of August and beginning of September. As well are aeration should be done around this time as well.
