Hi. I have a 60 inch lazer with a 25hp kohler motor on it. At first when you start it up the fuel filter will fill up but once the motor gets some heat in it the fuel pump does not fill up the filter and as soon as you put a load on it, it will bog down. It seems like the fuel pump is not getting enough vaccum to it to create enough suction to get the fuel flowwing into it. I,ve replaced the pump, lines and filter and still no luck. The motor has a lot of hours on it. I was wondering if anyone else had this sort of problem. Any help would be great.

:blob3: try new gas caps, maybe not venting.

Look thru this site for posts on Kohler. There are a lot of reasons why Kohler 25's will lose power. Your engine will run fine with the fuel filter showing very little fuel inside. Try to see if you are running on 2 cylinders when it fails. If not a failing coil is possibly the reason for the lack of power. Usually this will show up in the first 200 hrs of the engine life. Otherwise you may be losing compression due to a loose valve seat or loose valve guide.

To find out if the problem is a non venting gas cap, loosen it when the unit gets hot and begins to cut out to test that theory.

    Good Luck.
