The throttle cable and it's associated issues (?) are eliminated. You get 3650, 3400, 3250 and 2500 RPM.

The engine temp and oil pressure idiot lights are cute. Make sure you guys keep looking at them while you're trying to cut grass. A low oil pressure horn has already been available on some mowers for decades.

The 2500 rpm is only valid when the pto is off.

No need to look at them. If it senses one of them it shuts the pto off and slows the engine speed. My deere 1445 shuts the pto off which is nice. There's no way you'll hear that little horn or beep.

As much as i like there mowers is it really necessary to have the RED switch? I mean i have been doing that forever, fluctuating my rpm's. If i'm on a less demanding property or one where the house next door is real close i sometimes slow the rpm's down so i don't through clippings all over the place...
It's just as simple to move my throttle lever as it is to move that switch. Also even with me doing that for years and never having any problems, aren't air cooled engine designed to run at full throttle?

You've apparently never heard the horn. It will split your ear drums. Don't associate small with quiet.

Which brands have them? Still the same as shutting the deck off. You'll know something is wrong without having to change your shorts afterwards

Agreed. I just think about more things to go wrong. You know the old KISS principal.

Almost all Dixie Choppers have low oil horns. I'm sure others do too.

I think Ferris diesel had a siren/light but like Jim said between mowing and at full throttle/full stick would be hard to here...
