I am geting ready to build a leaf plow for next fall but I wonder if I could just use a dethatcher to push leaves. I have a walker G.H.S. so I dont care about getting every leaf on the first pass. What do you guys think?

I can see a leaf plow being good for a large area with lots of trees when you blow up a large pile of leaves that gets too big to move any further with a small blower. I wouldn't try it with a dethatcher. I am toying with buying one of the BIG blowers that mounts direct to the Walker.

I use my JRCO rake to push leaves in somewhat smaller amounts. I keep it on the front of a Gravely 300 rider which works well, because the whole deck raises up. It works REALLY well for pushing piles up onto tarps. It also can't be beat for cleang up Willow tree mess with all the twigs and whips that fall.
