I know its early but I am wondering how do you charge for leaf removal? do you charge by the minute? or do you estimate how many leaves will drop and give a price?

If by the minute how much do you charge a minute?

if it's a regular mowing customer i just charge the same rate as a normal mowing. i keep mowing though every 2 weeks and i don't let the leaves build up so it really doesn't take any longer than a normal mowing to mulch the leaves up with the mower.

if it's a job where it's been months and the leaves are 2ft thick then i would charge $1 a min.

Ok so you do the job first and time how long it takes then give them the bill?

nope you estimate how long it will take and give them a price upfront.

give them a ballpark figure. for example $100-$150. of course the estimate will vary depending on how big the yard is and how many leaves and such. the more jobs you do the more you will learn how long it takes.

if it's a super huge yard or something then estimate really high just to cover yourself.

to be honest i've never had anyone ask for a leaf cleanup that wasn't already a mowing customer so i always had a good idea about how long it would take.

I charge less for orange leaves than for red 'cuz they're prettier.

sometimes they have red, orange, and yellow and it looks like the yard is on fire.

no you charge less because the leaves just burn on their own and you dont' have to remove them from the yard.

    Amateurs.

Of course mixed leaves cost extra. Do you realize how long it takes to sort them all?

    ;)

I don't do a lot of leaf cleanups. Mostly because I'm not equipped for large cleanups. I try to focus on areas where they vac then up at the curb and I just need to blow them curbside.
Bagging them is way too time consuming.

Some I charge a small fee to do while I'm there to mow each week because it's easier to deal with a little at a time and some I charge per hour.
