Occasionally I see post on the forum about how unhappy folks are with LESCO and am very thankful I don't have that problem! My local Lesco (the Pineville, NC store) is the best! Since I started my company I have had nothing but good results and support from them.

My local Lesco explains the "how & why" when I ask a question about a product, they are always willing to listen, they will drive to any job site I ask if I need specific advice, and they will deliver product to my home. I know of no other company that offers that level of service around here!

Get to know your local Lesco staff, visit often and ask questions, I'm sure you will find them to be a valuable tool also. I was also told that Lesco will have a new web site soon that will be top notch, can't wait.

MY LESCO GUYS ARE VERY PERSONABLE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.....THEY ALWAYS HELP ME OUT IF NEEDED AND NEVER SEND ME AWAY WITHOUT AN ANSWER...THE ONLY BEEF I HAVE IS WHEN THEY ORDER SOMETHING IT SEEMS TO TAKE FOREVER TO ARRIVE

  4. I hate to sound ignorant, but what is Lesco all about. Is it a one-stop shop for commercial maintenance contractors? I.e. chemicals, irrigation products ectetera... I had heard that they would be coming to the Bay Area of San Francisco. Starting to get tired of Horizon and Ewing. Ewing is a big irrigation place, carries ferts, but no other chemicals. Horizon just to over the company that I dealt with for chemicals. Used to be Automatic Rain. Now they will no longer carry the various chemicals that we use in our trade because state law mandates that at least at the store manager level must have a Pesticide License. Means I have to drive an additional 45 miles and buy bulk, instead of just buying what I need to do my route twice a year. That additional 45 miles is probably one of the worst drives that a person can drive. 90 minutes to drive 10 miles sometimes.

Pretty much. Lesco designs their buildings as drive through buildings, you pull in, get what you want and drive out loaded. If you have big orders they will bring it to your home of business. Lesco offer the following to name a few:

    • Grass seeds
    • Fertilizers
    • Herbicides (liquid and granular)
    • Pesticides (liquid and granular)
    • Lawn mower parts and accessories
    • Mowers
    • Spreaders
    • 50, 100, 200 gallon sprayers
    • Aerators
    • Dethatchers
    • Small hand tools
    • Back pack blowers, trimmers, and so on
    • Advertising materials (flyers, lawn signs, and such)
    • Soil testing
    • And free advice

They do offer more but you get the idea. As for being ignorant, don't be, to me Horizon is a day care center chain and Ewing is a basketball player! :)

    Ray ,
Thanks for the clarification and a great laugh. Ewing(http://www.ewing1.com/ewing/tw/home/main.htm) and Horizion Irrigation are the biggest irrigation supply companies in Ca. Ar. Nv. and NM. I said it once before and I will say it again things are just done differently.

I can't wait for Lesco to hit my area, though they are going to have a hard time. At between $5.10 to $6.25 a square foot, the cost to lease property, it's sure expensive. I know of a parcel of land in town, sold for $3.2 millon. It was only a 1/2 acre lot.

Lesco is great for fertilizer, weed killer and other things like that. I personally do not care for there equipment, but thats just my opinion. Plus the Lesco by me has the worst service known to man!!! I guess you have to take the good with the bad.
