A half ton here is like a F150. Your Nissan would be a 'compact'. My 250 pickup gets 12-13 mpg and the 550 gets like 9 mpg. :hammerhead:

Haha. See I told you so! It's called the rest of the world there LandContract. Look around and see what's used in Africa, Asia, Australia, and yes, Europe.

Don't get me wrong, I love to drive my F350 dually to and from work, but the only reason I do so is because of the relatively cheap cost of fuel. Pay world prices and reality changes things fast.

I wasn't picking on you personally.:)

As for small trucks, I don't need to compensate so I'm good if it got 30 mpg. :usflag:

Main reason for the rest of the world driving sh!tboxes like smartcars is socialism, creating high taxes on fuel, registration, etc. Causing a lower standard of living, look at the sizes of average houses everywhere else in the world. I'll say this straight up, living anywhere but the United States would suck absolute a$$ !!

id like my son and my potential grand sons to be able to enjoy the planet as much as me,

has a girl ever let you get into bed with your big truck haha ;) lol hahaha

are you honestly saying you wouldnt mind saving some fuel and money?

Land contact have you lived anywhere apart from the USA? to qualify your point that is?

quick bit of math as road diesel at $9.119808 a gallon here

diesel is $3.30 plus a gallon here right now....I drive an F350 diesel with all the Gale Banks aftermarket performance stuff you can get as my daily driver. I am looking at options if fuel keeps climbing.....milage could soon become important to the pocket book as we go par with the rest of the world.

Anywhere there are extremely high taxes restricting me from doing/having things I enjoy is a place I would not want to live.

And as for your grandsons, diesel hardly pollutes at all, black smoke is mostly soot which basically becomes dirt eventually.
