Like to see what people use to Dethatch lawns
    Big Lawns
    Small Lawns
    What do you use

Till this year always ran the bluebird power rake on everything thing
This winter came up with a idea for my mower using a homemade pull behind thatcher
I tested out on a 3 acre lawn and it works great it pulled out alot thatch To make sure it did I ran my power rake in same area to see if it would pull any more up and it didnt pull much more up So Im happy with my design and setup
I'll still use the power rake on small lawns
I mounted a 3 point hitch to my 1998 DC my thatch is 58'' wide
I can add weight and let it float or use down pressure

    Snyder,
you are amazing. All DC mowers should have a 3-point hitch.

But who did you get to rake up all that dead grass residue?

If it was in town I would filled my 16 ft dump trailer probly 2 times with what I got off that lawn

    I have a Ryan Ren-o-thin
    Great old machine.
I have changed the air filter put a bigger one on with a pre-filter so I can keep it clean easier. and a new muffler that directs the fumes to the side not back at the user.
I have new wheels on order as the bearings are gone in the old ones.
I am going with semi pneumatic tires for a smooth ride.

Couldn't find any pics. I run Hustler SZs and the JRCO 60" front rake. This and fall clean up is the only time I have my bagging system on. It's great. Esp. since they updated them about a year ago (larger casters and better latching system for transport). Nice thing is you make only two passes at most with deck on, picking up thatch as you go. I usually run two different patterns to lift out more thatch. But I'm able to run higher speeds like your DCs.

I also have a walk behind Blue Bird. Now this is more work. Nice if you have a gated or small area but it's dirty and harder on the turf. Same as this with a Honda motor.
