I wonder if you guys have heard about this canker that's supposed to be fatal to the leyland cypress trees. I had a local grower tell me that in 15 years, all the l.c.'s in the area would be dead because of it. On reflection, I realized they were selling something to take the place of them, thuja green giants. Is this canker really all that bad? Have any of you heard anything about it?

I read about it in a trade mag a couple of years ago. Haven't seen it or heard much since.

We've been planting a lot of these in the past few years as have other LCO's in our area. Never saw one die from this problem. I know they do not like to be dug in the fall especially in these hardiness zones.
