Is a license or certification required for fertilizer application in Tennessee?

I don't know about Tennessee but here in Virginia we need a permit to apply fertilizer and lime. The state issues it. Contact the Tennessee Agriculture Department and they will let you know what you need.

Like mentioned above, check your states laws. In some states you do not need a license to apply fertilizer only. Anything other then fertilizer (weed killer, pesticides, etc.) ... you will need a license.
