Hi, I live in NJ and I was wondering if you need to be licensed to install pavers, ponds, and retaining walls.

You only need the Home Improvement Contractors license, nothing special for hardscaping, and a good insurance policy.

Kirk thanks for the info. Does NJ require any building permits when you do patios, driveways, or ponds?

Almost all towns will require permits of some nature. Usually the state is left out of it unless you are doing something that might involve the DEP or others like certain work near certain water sources, etc.
