Its a bit late to ask I guess... but who is going to Lightfair?

I understand the AOLP Board meeting is there today, so I guess I will run into at least a few friendly faces when the trade show opens on Tuesday.

I know Mark will be there, probably with Mike.

    Anyone else?

James...yes, Mike and I will be there. Maybe I can meet up with you somewhere on Wednesday or Thursday? Let me know how your schedule looks. Tuesday will be really busy for me and we've got a few other things locked down over the next couple days.

It would be nice to catch up and grab a drink or something.

Cool, it would be good to catch up, with both of you.... Perhaps just not at the same time ? ;) I am at the show on Tuesday, and planning on spending some quality time with my Wife on Wednesday. I will send some texts and see where you guys are.

    Light on.

For those who went, anything newsworthy?

    Thanks

I'm still here. I didn't see anything ground breaking. LED's are just getting more refined. A lot of future emphasis will be on control systems. Overall a strong show with higher attendance, but nothing earth shattering especially in the field of landscape lighting.

Let me edit my previous response. There was some very sad news in the field of landscape lighting. Ron Naus, the owner of BK Lighting died on Saturday. As a sign of respect, instead of a trade show booth there was a wreath and picture of Mr. Naus in BK's floor space. I did not know Ron but I respected his company and products and he will be missed. He was a relatively young man (mid 40's) and leaves behind a wife and children. My condolences go out to his family.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Ron on a couple of occasions and was impressed by his candor, knowledge and passion. He will be missed.

Lightfair was underwhelming this year, much unlike last year's version where so much was new and groundbreaking. Had I gone only for the conference I would have left disappointed, thankfully I was there for some R&R with my Wife, making it very worthwhile. It sure was hot...
